History

Digging in, Reaching out.

More people trust, hope and are inspired to be their best through this community started at Jubilee Mennonite Church (JMC). In 2008, JMC noticed that community children were loitering at the church, but there was nothing for them to do there. From these interactions, an opportunity was created, and the first JMC community program, J-Club, was born. JMC members felt a call to action, and seeds of hope were planted.

Since then, a transformation has taken place in the North Kildonan community. Neighbours, governments, schools, churches, businesses, housing and healthcare have worked together to create the Community Roots Resource Centre. Hundreds of individuals and families have gathered together at the hub to engage with each other.

History proves our commitment. We are rooted in the neighbourhood, and committed to caring for each other and the land. We strive to meet the physical, emotional, spiritual, social and intellectual needs of the neighbourhood.

Our hope is to bring peace and to be stronger together.
